Street Fighter 2026 Cast: Eric André’s Don Sauvage Role Is Official

Eric André's unusual place in the Street Fighter lineup is no longer a casting rumor. Paramount Pictures officially identifies the comedian and actor as Don Sauvage in the upcoming live-action movie, which is currently scheduled to reach U.S. theaters on October 16, 2026.

The confirmation is part of a much larger ensemble built around Andrew Koji as Ryu, Noah Centineo as Ken Masters and Callina Liang as Chun-Li. With the movie now approaching its theatrical release and an official trailer already available, there is considerably more confirmed information than when André's involvement was first reported.

Here is what is currently official about the Street Fighter 2026 cast, André's character and the movie's story.

Street Fighter 2026 Cast: Eric André Is Officially Don Sauvage

Eric André will play Don Sauvage, a supporting character with a connection to the fighting and entertainment side of Capcom's universe.

Capcom's own character material describes Don as a former member of an unsuccessful rock band who was recruited by the CWA because of his skill as an announcer. He later became a freelance ring announcer and expanded his work to other events, including hosting a Las Vegas talk show.

That makes André's casting less random than it may initially appear. Don is an intentionally theatrical personality whose job is to bring energy to a fight crowd, even though he is far less famous than Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li or M. Bison.

His inclusion also shows that the filmmakers are not limiting the movie to the franchise's most recognizable playable fighters. A secondary figure from the wider Street Fighter world has been given a live-action role alongside the headline characters.

What Is the New Street Fighter Movie About?

The movie is set in 1993. Ryu and Ken Masters, once close but now estranged, are brought back into the fighting world when Chun-Li recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament.

The tournament is more than a simple contest. The official synopsis says a deadly conspiracy is operating behind the competition, forcing Ryu and Ken to confront both each other and unresolved parts of their past.

That setup gives the film a clear tournament framework while leaving room for the large number of characters associated with different countries, fighting styles and factions in Capcom's games.

The official marketing also makes the project's source material unmistakable. The trailer features the exaggerated martial-arts action and special-move imagery associated with the games rather than presenting the property as a conventional realistic combat drama.

The Confirmed Street Fighter 2026 Cast

Paramount and its official trailer materials have identified a wide ensemble that mixes established actors with professional wrestlers, musicians and combat-sports figures.

  • Andrew Koji as Ryu
  • Noah Centineo as Ken Masters
  • Callina Liang as Chun-Li
  • Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa'i as Akuma
  • David Dastmalchian as M. Bison
  • Cody Rhodes as Guile
  • Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki
  • Eric André as Don Sauvage
  • Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim
  • Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog
  • Jason Momoa as Blanka
  • Orville Peck as Vega
  • Olivier Richters as Zangief
  • Hirooki Goto as E. Honda
  • Rayna Vallandingham as Juli
  • Alexander Volkanovski as Joe
  • Kyle Mooney as Marvin
  • Mel Jarnson as Cammy

The casting strategy is notable because several performers arrive with real experience in wrestling, martial arts or combat sports. Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns come from professional wrestling, Hirooki Goto is also a professional wrestler, and Alexander Volkanovski is known for mixed martial arts.

At the same time, performers including Koji, Dastmalchian, Liang, Centineo and Momoa give the production an experienced screen-acting core.

Kitao Sakurai Directs the New Adaptation

Kitao Sakurai is directing Street Fighter. The production is backed by Legendary Entertainment and Capcom, with Paramount Pictures handling theatrical distribution.

The official production credits list Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Jason Momoa, Takayuki Nakayama and Stefan Makhoul as producers. JJ Hook, Jay Ashenfelter, Kenzo Tsujimoto and Haruhiro Tsujimoto are executive producers.

Momoa therefore has two roles in the project: he plays Blanka on screen and also serves as one of the movie's producers.

Capcom announced in September 2025 that principal photography had begun. Paramount later presented the movie at CinemaCon 2026, where members of the cast appeared as the studio introduced footage from the film.

When Does Street Fighter Come Out?

Street Fighter is scheduled to open in U.S. theaters on October 16, 2026. Paramount continues to list that date on its official movie page as of September 1, 2026.

The movie is also significant from a business perspective. It is the first film under the multi-year global distribution arrangement announced by Paramount Pictures and Legendary Entertainment in September 2025. Legendary and Capcom are behind the production, while Paramount is responsible for worldwide theatrical marketing and distribution outside China, where Legendary East handles those duties.

Paramount's original announcement also stated that the movie was filmed for IMAX, reinforcing the plan for a large-scale theatrical release rather than a streaming-first launch.

No official streaming release date has been announced.

Why Don Sauvage Is an Interesting Choice for Eric André

Most of the movie's casting announcements concern instantly recognizable fighters such as Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile and M. Bison. Don Sauvage occupies a different place in the franchise.

He is an announcer rather than one of the central combatants, and Capcom's character background emphasizes his loud public persona and entertainment experience. That gives André a role that can logically exist around the tournament without requiring the movie to transform him into another frontline martial artist.

The choice may also help explain why the production has room for such a large cast. A World Warrior Tournament naturally needs more than the competitors themselves. Announcers, organizers and other supporting figures can make the event feel like a functioning international spectacle.

How much screen time Don actually receives has not been officially detailed, so it would be premature to describe André's part as either a cameo or a major supporting role.

What Happens Next?

With the official trailer released and the October theatrical date still in place, the next phase is the final marketing campaign leading into release. Additional clips, television spots and promotional appearances may arrive as October approaches, but only confirmed studio announcements should be treated as final.

For now, one question from the movie's earlier casting cycle has a definite answer: Eric André really is Don Sauvage, and he is part of an unusually broad live-action Street Fighter roster headed to theaters this fall.
