Disney has already released several of its biggest 2026 movies, but the company still has a busy theatrical calendar ahead. Its upcoming films span Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures.
As of July 13, 2026, the next Disney-owned studio release is Super Troopers 3 on August 7. Major titles scheduled farther ahead include Hexed, Avengers: Doomsday, Frozen 3, Lilo & Stitch 2, Incredibles 3 and two more Avatar films.

Upcoming Disney Movies Still Coming in 2026
Disney’s remaining 2026 slate moves between comedy, science fiction, animation, survival drama and superhero spectacle. The company confirmed most of the following dates during its official CinemaCon 2026 presentation.
Super Troopers 3 — August 7, 2026
Searchlight Pictures is bringing the Broken Lizard comedy team back for a third movie. Jay Chandrasekhar directs and returns as Thorny alongside Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske.
The story places the Vermont troopers between a chaotic wedding and an investigation into a new drug operation. It is the first Super Troopers movie since the 2018 sequel.
The Dog Stars — August 28, 2026
Ridley Scott directs this post-apocalyptic survival thriller based on Peter Heller’s novel. Jacob Elordi stars as Hig, a pilot living in an isolated settlement after a devastating global disaster.
Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Allison Janney, Benedict Wong and Guy Pearce are also part of the cast. A mysterious radio transmission pushes Hig to leave the relative safety of his home and search for other survivors.
Whalefall — October 16, 2026
Whalefall follows a diver who is swallowed by a sperm whale while searching for his late father’s remains. Trapped with a limited oxygen supply, he must find a way to escape from inside the animal.
Brian Duffield directs the adaptation of Daniel Kraus’ novel. Austin Abrams, Josh Brolin, Elisabeth Shue, John Ortiz, Jane Levy and Emily Rudd star.
Wild Horse Nine — November 6, 2026
Martin McDonagh writes and directs this Searchlight Pictures dark comedy. Set shortly before the 1973 Chilean coup, the film follows two CIA agents who are sent from Santiago to Easter Island.
The cast includes John Malkovich, Sam Rockwell, Steve Buscemi, Tom Waits, Parker Posey, Mariana di Girolamo and Ailín Salas.
Hexed — November 25, 2026
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ next original feature is a magical coming-of-age story about Billie, an unconventional teenager who discovers hidden powers. Her abilities pull her and her cautious mother into a secret realm of witches called Hexe.
Hailee Steinfeld voices Billie, while Rashida Jones voices her mother, Alice. Fawn Veerasunthorn and Jason Hand direct, with Josie Trinidad serving as co-director. Disney has described Hexed as the studio’s 65th animated feature.
The November 25 date is for the United States. The film opens in UK cinemas on November 27.
Avengers: Doomsday — December 18, 2026
Marvel’s next Avengers film brings characters from several corners of its cinematic universe into a conflict involving Victor von Doom. Robert Downey Jr. plays Doom, while Anthony and Joe Russo return to direct from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely.
The extensive confirmed cast includes Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Tom Hiddleston, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Florence Pugh, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Letitia Wright and Paul Rudd.
The official Avengers: Doomsday page confirms the December 18 release. Older articles that still list a May 2026 date are no longer current.
Upcoming Disney Movies Confirmed for 2027
Disney’s 2027 schedule currently includes two original animated films, major franchise sequels and a standalone Star Wars adventure.
Ice Age: Boiling Point — February 5, 2027
Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, Buck and Scrat return in a new adventure involving dinosaurs, lava and the Lost World. Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Queen Latifah and Simon Pegg are returning to the voice cast.
John Donkin directs, with longtime Ice Age producer Lori Forte producing.
Gatto — March 5, 2027
Pixar’s Gatto takes place in Venice and follows Nero, a black cat who has spent years navigating the city’s superstitions and criminal underworld. After becoming indebted to a feline mob boss, Nero forms an unexpected friendship that could change his life.
Mark Ruffalo voices Nero and Laurence Fishburne voices Rocco. Luca filmmaker Enrico Casarosa directs, with Andrea Warren producing.
Star Wars: Starfighter — May 28, 2027
Ryan Gosling leads this standalone Lucasfilm adventure directed by Shawn Levy. The story takes place approximately five years after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and introduces new characters in a previously unexplored period.
Flynn Gray, Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, Daniel Ings and Amy Adams join Gosling in the cast. Lucasfilm announced that production began in 2025.
Bluey Movie — August 6, 2027
The first feature-length Bluey film will receive a global theatrical release through Walt Disney Studios. BBC Studios and Ludo Studio are producing the animated movie, with series creator Joe Brumm writing and directing.
The film will arrive on Disney+ after its theatrical run. Disney has not yet revealed detailed plot information.
Frozen 3 — November 24, 2027
Anna, Elsa and the world of Arendelle return in the third theatrical Frozen movie. Disney has released early concept art, but a complete synopsis and full cast announcement have not yet been published.
The November 24, 2027 release date is official. Reports using a general 2027 window are less precise than Disney’s current announcement.
Avengers: Secret Wars — December 17, 2027
Anthony and Joe Russo will also direct the follow-up to Avengers: Doomsday. Marvel has revealed little about the story, although Robert Downey Jr. is officially listed among the cast.
The film’s current release date is December 17, 2027. Earlier Marvel announcements listed May 7, 2027, but that date has since changed.
Disney Movies Dated for 2028
Lilo & Stitch 2 — May 26, 2028
Disney confirmed a sequel to its successful live-action Lilo & Stitch remake in 2025 and later dated the movie for May 26, 2028. Further story, director and cast information has not been officially announced.
The sequel should not be confused with Lilo & Scratch, an animated short scheduled to play with Hexed in November 2026.
Incredibles 3 — June 16, 2028
Pixar’s superhero family returns in Incredibles 3. Disney first announced the project at D23 in 2024 and confirmed its June 16, 2028 release during the company’s 2026 annual shareholder meeting.
Brad Bird, who wrote and directed the first two films, is developing the sequel. Disney has not released an official plot synopsis.
Disney Movies Coming From 2029 to 2031
Coco 2 — 2029
Pixar is developing a sequel to its 2017 film about music, family and the Land of the Dead. Director Lee Unkrich and co-director Adrian Molina are returning, with Mark Nielsen producing.
Disney has identified 2029 as the theatrical release year. No official release date has been announced.
Avatar 4 — December 21, 2029
James Cameron’s fourth Avatar film is officially scheduled for December 21, 2029. Story information remains limited, and the final title has not been announced.
The long gap after Avatar: Fire and Ash reflects the scale of the franchise’s production and visual-effects work. As with any date this far in advance, the schedule could still change.
Avatar 5 — December 19, 2031
The fifth planned movie is dated for December 19, 2031. It is currently the farthest officially scheduled theatrical film on Disney’s public calendar.
The official Avatar movie schedule lists both remaining sequels, although neither has a final title.
What About Disney Movies Without Release Dates?
Several reported or announced projects are not included in the dated calendar because Disney has not assigned them a current theatrical date. Marvel, for example, continues to list Blade among its films without a release date.
Rumored live-action remakes, possible franchise sequels and projects discussed only by unnamed sources should not be treated as scheduled movies. No official release date has been announced for those titles.
Why Disney’s Release Calendar May Change
Long-range movie dates are plans rather than guarantees. Production delays, visual-effects schedules, competing releases and broader business decisions can all cause studios to move films.
The Avengers schedule demonstrates how quickly older information can become unreliable. Both Doomsday and Secret Wars moved from previously announced May dates to December dates.
Disney’s next major fan event, D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, takes place from August 14 through August 16, 2026. It could provide additional titles, footage or scheduling information, although Disney has not promised specific movie announcements.
