2026 TV Premiere Dates: Confirmed Shows Coming This Fall

August is shaping up as one of the busiest streaming months of the year. Paramount+ is scheduled to open the month with Lioness Season 3 on August 2, followed by the return of Hulu's animated science-fiction comedy Futurama on August 3.

Apple TV has set August 5 for Ted Lasso Season 4. The new season continues one of the service's most recognizable comedy franchises after the third season appeared to conclude Ted's original journey.

Prime Video will bring Alan Ritchson back as Jack Reacher on August 12. Season 4 is based on Lee Child's novel Gone Tomorrow, which begins with Reacher noticing a suspicious passenger during a New York subway journey.

The release is especially important for Prime Video because it arrives shortly before the franchise expands with Neagley. Maria Sten reprises her role as private investigator Frances Neagley in the spinoff, which premieres September 16.

Lanterns expands the DC television universe

Lanterns is scheduled to premiere August 16 on HBO and HBO Max. The live-action DC Studios series follows veteran Green Lantern Hal Jordan and new recruit John Stewart as they investigate a mystery on Earth.

Kyle Chandler plays Hal Jordan, while Aaron Pierre stars as John Stewart. The supporting cast includes Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan and Ulrich Thomsen.

The project has been positioned as a grounded detective story rather than a conventional space adventure. Its connection to the wider DC Universe also makes it one of the most closely watched television launches on Warner Bros. Discovery's calendar.

Netflix closes the summer with returning favorites

Netflix has several significant releases planned for late summer. Outer Banks Season 5 is listed for August 20, while One Hundred Years of Solitude: Part Two is expected on August 26.

The second part of One Hundred Years of Solitude continues Netflix's Spanish-language adaptation of Gabriel García Márquez's landmark novel. The production was filmed in Colombia and follows multiple generations of the Buendía family in the fictional town of Macondo.

Netflix schedules can occasionally vary by territory. Viewers should therefore check the title page in their local Netflix app as the release date approaches.

Slow Horses Season 6 arrives September 16

Apple has officially confirmed that Slow Horses Season 6 will premiere globally on September 16, 2026. The six-episode season begins with one episode, followed by weekly installments through October 21.

Gary Oldman returns as Jackson Lamb, the abrasive but highly capable leader of a group of sidelined British intelligence agents. Apple says the new story places the Slough House team on the run after Diana Taverner draws them into a dangerous cycle of retaliation and revenge.

The season adapts material from Mick Herron's novels Joe Country and Slough House. Returning cast members include Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Christopher Chung, Jonathan Pryce and Hugo Weaving. Lenny Rush joins the ensemble.

NBC begins its fall schedule in September

NBC's entertainment schedule starts September 17 with a two-hour series premiere of The Traitors: New Blood. The civilian edition adapts the familiar format by placing ordinary contestants, rather than celebrities or established reality personalities, inside the competition.

On September 21, The Voice returns for Season 30. The same night also introduces Line of Fire, a new family drama starring Peter Krause and Hope Davis.

NBC's long-running procedural franchises will return in October. Chicago Med Season 12, Chicago Fire Season 15 and Chicago P.D. Season 14 premiere October 7.

Law & Order: SVU Season 28 and Law & Order Season 26 follow on October 8. The staggered rollout gives NBC distinct premiere weeks for its reality programming, new scripted shows and established Dick Wolf dramas.

Fox changes its Sunday-night formula

Fox begins its main fall rollout on September 21 with Celebrity Name That Tune and Celebrity Weakest Link. The network's medical dramas follow on September 22, with Best Medicine Season 2 and Doc Season 3.

The larger scheduling change comes September 27. Fox's Sunday lineup will no longer consist entirely of animation. Animal Control Season 5 joins The Simpsons, Universal Basic Guys and Grimsburg.

The Simpsons begins its 38th season at 8 p.m. ET, followed by Animal Control at 8:30 p.m. The decision places a live-action comedy directly inside Fox's established Sunday animation block.

New NBC comedies arrive in October and November

Happy's Place returns for its third season on October 23. It will lead into the series premiere of Newlyweds, starring real-life couple Téa Leoni and Tim Daly as two people adjusting to marriage after a rapid courtship.

NBC will continue its comedy rollout on November 2. St. Denis Medical Season 3 premieres at 8 p.m., followed by the second season of The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins.

The latter series stars Tracy Morgan as a disgraced former football player attempting to rebuild his reputation. Daniel Radcliffe co-stars as the filmmaker documenting his comeback.

Several 2026 premiere dates remain unannounced

Even with a crowded calendar, many anticipated shows still do not have exact release dates. Some services have announced only a general 2026 window, while other projects have moved into 2027.

NBC, for example, says its new version of The Rockford Files will launch in January 2027. The comedy Sunset P.I. is planned for February 2027. They should not be counted as fall 2026 premieres.

Other network and streaming dates may change because of production schedules, programming strategy or regional distribution plans. A confirmed date should always come from the network, studio or streaming service responsible for the release.

What happens next

ABC, CBS, Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, Peacock and other services are expected to continue updating their calendars throughout the summer and fall. Holiday specials, international dramas and late-year streaming releases may also be added closer to their launch dates.

For now, August and September contain the heaviest concentration of major premieres. Viewers can expect recognizable franchises such as Reacher, Ted Lasso, Slow Horses and the NBC procedural lineup to anchor the closing months of 2026.
