A Fun New Twist on Cinderella is coming to Netflix!
Hey everyone! Do you love fairy tales? What if the story of Cinderella got a big, colorful, musical makeover but this time the focus is on her stepsisters? Netflix is making an exciting new animated movie called Steps, and it looks like a lot of silly fun!
What Is “Steps” All About?
In the classic Cinderella story, the stepsisters are usually the mean ones. But in Steps, things are different. The two stepsisters are not really bad; they are just misunderstood!
The story follows Lilith, one of the stepsisters. She gets blamed for messing up the big Royal Ball with a stolen magic wand. Oops! Because of the mistake, her sister Margot turns into a frog. And now a bossy girl who loves princes is in charge of the whole kingdom.
Lilith has to fix everything before it’s too late. She teams up with Cinderella herself and a big, friendly (and surprisingly cute) troll. Together they go on a wild adventure to save the kingdom and show that everyone — even people who make mistakes — deserves a happy ending.
It’s a musical comedy, so expect lots of singing, dancing, laughs, and colorful animation!
Who Is in the Movie?
Some really talented actors are bringing the characters to life with their voices:
- Amanda Seyfried (you might know her from Mamma Mia!) voices Cinderella.
- Ali Wong voices Lilith, the main stepsister who tries to fix the mess.
- Stephanie Hsu voices Margot, the sister who becomes a frog.
The music and jokes come from the funny duo Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci. Amy Poehler’s team is also helping make the movie. The directors are Alyce Tzue and John Ripa, who worked on big animated films before.
Why Kids and Families Will Love It
This movie turns the old fairy tale upside down in a good way. Instead of “good vs bad,” it teaches that people can change and that second chances are important. Plus, it has:
