A24 just gave us one of the most anticipated films of 2026: The Drama, written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli (Dream Scenario, Sick of Myself). Starring Zendaya as Emma Harwood (a bookstore clerk from Baton Rouge) and Robert Pattinson as Charlie Thompson (a British museum director from London), the story follows a happily engaged couple whose wedding preparations implode when one partner uncovers disturbing truths about the other.
What starts as a light rom-com quickly dives into black comedy territory – think awkward confessions, dark secrets, and laugh-out-loud cringe moments. With supporting stars like Alana Haim, Mamoudou Athie, Hailey Gates, and Zoë Winters, plus A24's signature style, early buzz from the recent LA premiere is strong. Many are already calling it Pattinson and Zendaya's first big victory of their packed 2026 slate (which also includes Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey and Dune: Part Three).
