Yayan Ruhian, the legendary martial artist behind Mad Dog in The Raid franchise, is back in Lone Samurai - hitting theaters and digital December 12, 2025.
Set in 13th century Japan, the film follows a shipwrecked samurai who finds himself trapped on an island inhabited by a murderous cannibal tribe. What begins as contemplation of an honorable death transforms into a brutal fight for survival.
Directed by Josh C. Waller (Raze, McCanick), this Japan-Indonesia-USA co-production promises "existential action like you've never seen." With Ruhian's fight choreography expertise and the film's dark, philosophical tone, Lone Samurai blends samurai honor with primal survival horror.
The cast includes Shogen Ito as the lone warrior and Rama Ramadhan, with Japanese dialogue and Indonesian filming locations creating an authentic yet visceral atmosphere.
